Co-founders Kelly Bennett and Porter Bennett recognized this need and in 2012 founded B3 Insight to provide solutions. Based in Denver, Colorado, B3 Insight is the most recognized and trusted provider of water data and insight to stakeholders across diverse industries. Combining expertise in natural resources, earth sciences, resource economics, energy markets, agriculture, and the data economy, B3 Insight continually innovates the way that complex natural resource data is turned into meaningful, actionable information.

We provide insights to nearly every aspect of water management and have built an ecosystem that enables customers to integrate data from major providers such as Enverus and IHS as well as their own proprietary data. We are proud to deliver diverse data in an intuitive, proprietary web platform and efficient means to access, analyze, and integrate data through data feed services. Additionally, our team of experts leverage our data to provide in-house analyses and reports, consulting services, and develop major market and academic studies.

Our founding team has decades of experience in the information space, starting in the 1980s with BENTEK Energy. Founded by Porter Bennett, BENTEK became the leading provider of energy market fundamentals data and analytics. As one of the first energy data platforms, BENTEK Energy set the stage for transparent, high quality data coupled with deep market understanding. After Platts acquired BENTEK in 2011, we turned our attention to water. We created a massive integrated database of Western water and land information and engineered a purpose-built platform to deliver data to customers. Water Sage launched two years later and became the go-to resource in numerous industries for water data. In 2018 we launched B3 Insight, expanding beyond water rights and groundwater data to provide industry-specific, comprehensive data solutions for lifecycle water management. Our name – B3 – invokes the three pillars that define our mantra: Better Data provides Better Insight for Better Outcomes.
